My baby dread abortion

  • Nov. 28th, 2008 at 1:14 PM

Well...after having my last set of dreads for about 6/7 years, i brushed them all out a year ago. I felt like they had had their time - i think thats just something you know in your heart. They were too heavy, some were thinning due to being tortured over the years by strong bleach and, yes, i know....root flipping!

So i said my goodbyes, cut 12" off them (they were at my waist) and started to brush. They were so tight that it took me a whole week to brush them out, and i felt bald afterwards because my hair seemed so thin and light!

And I hated my normal short hair!

So between christmas 06 and August 08 i had various different colours of synthetic hair in.

But, as a loctician, i was working with real dreads all the time and I was so jealous of these lovely locks! In August 08 I finally decided to dread my hair again.

So, 4 months in and I dont feel like I have enough love for them anymore. As much as I love dreads, I dont feel like im in the right place in my life to have them...so I have made the painful decision to comb them out.

I know its pretty defeatest but, I miss the versatility of my synth locks. Yes, I know they arnt real, but I think thats the direction my heart is going in.

Sorry dreads.x
